Terms of use.

The plain-English rules for using advance.to: what our listings are (and aren't), how submissions work, and what you can do with our content.

About these terms

These terms cover your use of advance.to, which is run by the advance.to team ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data.

Listings are for information only

advance.to summarises opportunities published by other organisations. Deadlines, amounts, eligibility rules and application steps are set by each organiser and can change without notice.

Always check the details on the organiser's official page before you apply. Nothing on advance.to is financial, legal, immigration or career advice.

Accuracy

We check every listing against the organiser's own page and recheck regularly (see how we verify), but we can't guarantee that everything is complete, accurate or up to date at every moment. If you spot a mistake, please send an update request.

Independent, with no endorsement

advance.to is independent. Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, we are not affiliated with, sponsored by or acting for any organiser we list. Including an opportunity is not an endorsement, and we aren't responsible for organisers' programmes, decisions, payments or websites. Organisation names and logos belong to their owners.

Submitting an opportunity

Anyone can suggest an opportunity or a correction through our submit form, free of charge. When you submit, you confirm that:

  • the information is accurate and not misleading, as far as you know;
  • you have the right to share it.

We decide what to publish. We may check, edit, shorten, re-categorise, decline or later remove any submission, and we don't have to give a reason. Submitting doesn't guarantee that it will be listed. You allow us to publish and adapt the listing details you send. We never publish your name or email address.

Our content and our database

The advance.to website, including its text, guides, design, logo and the database of listings (how it is selected, checked, organised and kept up to date), belongs to us. It is protected by copyright and database right.

You're welcome to: read and use the site for your own applications; share links to any page; quote short extracts with a link back; add deadlines to your own calendar and subscribe to our RSS and calendar feeds for personal use.

You may not, without our written permission:

  • scrape, crawl or harvest listings by automated means (search engines indexing pages for search results are fine);
  • copy, download or extract all or a substantial part of the listings, whether in one go or bit by bit over time;
  • republish, resell or redistribute listings or the database, or use them to build a competing directory, newsletter, app or dataset;
  • use the content to train or fine-tune AI models;
  • get around any technical limits we put on the site or its feeds.

If you'd like to use our data in another way, ask us.

Using the site fairly

Please don't misuse the site: no spam or fake submissions, no attempts to break, overload or get unauthorised access to it, and nothing unlawful.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the site running and accurate, but we may change, pause or remove any part of it at any time. The site is free to use.

Our liability

The site is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using advance.to or relying on it. This includes a missed deadline, an unsuccessful application, a programme changing or closing, or anything on a third-party website.

We are never responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit or opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. It doesn't affect your legal rights as a consumer either.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and using the site after a change means you accept the new version. Last updated 2 November 2026.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
